This page summarizes how long Krasum keeps different kinds of data. For the full data map and legal bases, see the Privacy Policy. For consent controls, see Consent Choices.
Retention at a glance
Meal images, default. Kept about 90 days, then deleted. This is the standard operational window for recent logs.
Meal images with image training consent. Kept up to 2 years for recognition improvement. Krasum asks again at about 18 months. If consent is not renewed, images return to the standard 90 day window and then expire.
Food log entries. Foods, portions, estimated calories, estimated macros, and timestamps are kept while your account is active. They are deleted when you delete your account.
Corrections. Corrections are kept while your account is active and deleted when you delete your account. If corrections pool consent was on, a correction may have contributed to shared food data while that consent was on.
Profile and onboarding. Sex, date of birth, height, weight, activity level, goal, optional goal weight, weekly rate, and display preferences are kept while your account is active. They are deleted when you delete your account.
Connected health data. Steps, active energy, weight, sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, body fat percentage, lean body mass, menstrual flow, and cycle records are kept while your account is active if health data sync is on. They are removed when you delete your account. Disconnecting stops future sync but does not by itself erase records already stored.
Health data for personalizing targets. Consent settings and target related source data are kept while your account is active. They are removed when you delete your account.
Lab results. Values, units, printed reference ranges, and printed flags that you confirmed are kept while your account is active. They are deleted when you delete your account.
Lab source documents. When you save confirmed values from a scan, Krasum removes the source photo or PDF by default unless you choose to keep the original. Stored source documents stay while your account is active and are deleted when you delete your account.
Hydration logs and settings. Kept while your account is active. Deleted when you delete your account.
Workout and fitness data. Routines, sessions, sets, notes, and personal records are kept while your account is active. They are deleted when you delete your account.
Consent settings. Current settings are kept while your account is active and deleted when you delete your account.
Consent change history. Linked to your account while the account exists. On account deletion, the user ID is removed from those rows, leaving unlinked records.
Feedback. Feedback message and app context are kept while your account is active for triage. When you delete your account, the feedback row is retained as a deidentified support record. The account link is removed. Any stored screenshot and voice note are deleted from storage.
Deletion audit. One pseudonymised record is kept to show that deletion happened. It uses a one way keyed hash of the former user ID and does not contain email, images, logs, health data, or lab values. It is kept only for integrity and compliance.
Request duplicate prevention records. Kept about 7 days.
Backups. Operational image backups age out within about 7 days. Training image backups age out within about 30 days. Database backups age out within about 14 days. Deleted data leaves backups as those backups age out.
How consent affects retention
Image training is the main optional choice that changes a retention window. If image training is off, meal images follow the 90 day operational window. If image training is on, meal images can be kept up to 2 years for recognition improvement.
Turning a consent off stops future use for that purpose. It does not automatically erase or reschedule records already created while consent was on. To remove your personal data, delete the related record if the app offers that option, or delete your account.
Account deletion
Account deletion removes your account data from live systems and triggers deletion of stored personal data as described above. Backups age out on their normal rotations. See Account and Data Deletion.
